Summaries from Nathan's interactive storytelling sessions (otherwise known as DnD)
"The mind is a doorway...
...one that you can walk through if you wish."
This time…. THEY ARE ALL PENDRAGONS!
Okay, this summary will be a bit meta. Here we go. The first hour and a half of the session was myself (the DM) meeting with each player for long periods of time, talking about opportunities. This finale is incredibly open-ended. You each have a lot of power to effect the story, but each player in this huge strategy game (William II, Franz, Murdock, etc.) also has a lot of power. It is really possible to change a lot in these last two sessions. We could have one long massive field battle, taking up two chapters. This could end in a final duel, or in a battle of assassins. There are endless plays and advantages to be seen, ignored, or gained. I will not go into what each player discovered on their private sessions. I won’t even go into what they shared publicly. Here are the true events. 1) A deal was reached with Franz and the Purifiers. The Coalition gave 7% of the Etarian colonies, 1000 Bonus Bucks, half a suit of the Quartz Plotzlichen Armor, and 25,000,000 Talents (another 25,000,000 after the war is over). As the deal was reached assassins attempted to kill Franz and William II. 2) Rocky and Mordred went to Gaiel, to follow the hint of one of the prisoners in the Old Castle Dungeon. Rocky used the path of the Illuminated to hide Mordred as he snuck past a huge bear-like god, known as Azzur. Mordred found a secret study and began to study the powerful art of Ancient Magic. 3) The Apprentices and King William II contacted the leader of the Rotted (also known as the Phoenix). He revealed himself to be Dachta, who was slain by his own weapon of mass destruction. He remembers nothing, but the other Rotting told him about what little they knew of his past. He knows that he made a deal with the Griffins. In exchange for destroying a piece of information they did not like, he had his Learning/Fusing workshop moved to the Griffin’s home. The Griffins reside on the first and second moons of Astra. 4) The group learned more about the history of the Griffins. They used to hunt species on Astra to near extinction, then keep the remnants of that species in a special zoo. At a certain point, they decided to hunt the Kanave. It went poorly. The Kanave forced the Griffins to make Astra a natural wildlife preservation and abolished the grand hunts. They did this by killing lots of Griffins. Since Griffins regard humans as worthless and are fearsome combatants. John of Ketra comes along. Dachta calls his old friend Tretsadore who is friendly to humans as much as a Griffin can be. Tretsadore was also Isabella’s babysitter. They go to the court of Algorus III (the griffin king) and Caedian nearly gets himself killed by sassing the winged lord of the Sovereigns. John saves his life and Godfried takes over negotiations. They get access to Dachta’s workshop and the King is still interested in negotiating as Godfired offered to allow them to help by opening up a Grand Hunt on the Learning and their allies.
